Suffolk County Council Highways update on the A1088 Bridge Farm Bridge reconstruction scheme, next steps…
It has been confirmed that the A1088 Bridge Farm Bridge reconstruction scheme is now complete.
SCC teams are in the process of demobilising the site and hope to be able to lift the road closure at around 8:30pm tonight (Wednesday 5 March).
SCC noted that the project has not been without its challenges and the completion of the new structure is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all those involved to overcome these issues and successfully deliver the scheme.
SCC acknowledges concerns from the community regarding the deterioration of surrounding roads, especially those used as unofficial diversion routes despite best efforts to discourage this driver behaviour.
Carriageway repairs in preparation for surface dressing will be taking place along Kiln Lane, Stowlangtoft, later this month.
A decision will be taken on which other local roads may need repairs and to what extent repairs are carried out. If necessary, further communications will be issued prior to their commencement.
SCC extends thanks to the local community for their continued patience during the A1088 reconstruction.
