Allotments Association

A line of wooden sheds painted yellow, orange, not painted so natural wood colour, sky blue etc. – an agricultural version of Southwold’s beach huts. Many various plants and vegetables growing in front of all the sheds. — Walsham Allotments & Leisure Garden Association Site

The Walsham Allotment Association is sited off Wattisfield Road was launched in the Spring of 2005 and has a membership of 36 tenants. Plots vary in size: full plot approx 80yds x 4yds, half plot 40yds x 4 yds, small plot 10yds x 4yds. Each plot has access to the use of communal machinery, water and a shed.

The Association has an elected committee who oversee the running of the allotments, organise fundraising events such as a Plant Sale in May and Produce and Pimms stall in August, agree joint deliveries of compost and manure and arrange social events, such as the end of season barbecue which usually takes place on the site.
