Walsham Allotment and Leisure Gardeners Association

A line of wooden sheds painted yellow, orange, not painted so natural wood colour, sky blue etc. – an agricultural version of Southwold’s beach huts. Many various plants and vegetables growing in front of all the sheds.

The Walsham Allotment Association was launched in the Spring of 2005 and has a membership of 20 tenants and also 12 junior members with their own mini plots at the allotment site off Wattisfield Road. Each plot has its own colourful garden shed and water is laid on for the use of the members.

The association has an elected committee and members have already met several times to agree on joint deliveries of compost and manure, discount seed, tree and soft fruit orders, and to organise social events, such as the end of season barbeque which usually takes place on the site.

This small article is just to ‘introduce’ this relatively new association, even if it is only able to ‘reserve’ space for future news. - if any! Further information can be obtained from the Secretary, Debbie Watson on 01359 259686.

Everyone is welcome to contact one of the above where you can then discover the availability of allotment plots here in Walsham and you can join the WALGA to benefit from discounted seeds and bulk orders of compost/manure - even if you don't actually want a plot!
