Historic Trail | Approximately 4 miles

The trail begins and ends at the west end of the parish approaching from Ixworth. There is, of course, no right of entry to private property. A few houses are barely visible from the road but have been included for general interest. The village comprises a central street near the church plus hamlets on the outskirts. Parking at the Memorial Hall is recommended whilst looking round the village centre.

Hundred Lane Walk | Total of 2-3 miles

A country walk along public paths, rights of way and quiet roads at the east end of Walsham parish. The start and finish point for this walk is Angrave Cross on the Westhorpe Road, where it is usually possible to park a car considerately, on the verge near the entrance to Botany Farm.

Orchid Walk | Approximately 3 miles

A walk following well-kept public footpaths with some stiles to cross. Allow about 11/2 hours. Wildlife abounds on this walk which is named after the common spotted orchids which once flourished around here but which are now restricted to one small patch by the path. Please appreciate them by not picking or removing them.

Three Windmills Walk | Approximately 3 miles

A walk following public footpaths and roads, visiting sites where three of Walsham’s windmills once stood.

Trades and Occupations Walk | Approximately three-quarters of a mile

This walk recreates a village street bustling with shops and work-places.  An easy walk, it describes the main trading activities which have gone on in The Street over the years.  Starting and finishing at the cross-roads by the church, the walk explores first the north side of The Street, as far as Wattisfield Road, then returns along the south side, and takes in a little of The Causeway before ending back at the cross–roads. The total distance of this walk is about three-quarters of a mile.
