Up and off early as I had to make sure that I arrived in Winchester well before six, as I was going out in the evening with my university friend. First though I had a meeting with the Selina, the latest addition to Mary Jane’s side of the family. Then off for Salisbury on a none too strenuous ride. Far fewer hills than the day before.
Managed, after a bit of pleading to leave my bike in the cloister area of the cathedral, while I went on a whistle stop tour of the building.The afternoon was quite as easy as the morning, but the temperature had risen, so need for more liquid and took a break at The John of Gaunt Inn at Kings Somborne.
Arrived at B&B a little before six to find that I had inadvertently asked for a room with two beds. B&B landlady had phone Mary Jane to ask if this was correct and had received an emphatic NO!!
Walsham would not be the same without the village church and the regular sound of the church bells.
