Committee Chair, Robin Newall sends a thank you to everyone involved in the Gardens Weekend noting that once again, it was a great financial success. Final accounts have not yet been prepared but the event this year took over £20,000. There are still some bills to come in!
The committee have received quite a number of most encouraging comments from visitors, this letter perhaps says it all…
“I have just returned from the fabulous open gardens event in Walsham-le-Willows with my daughter. We had the most marvellous day and I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of those garden owners who showed us some stunning gardens, beautifully tailored lawns, lots of inspiration and above all the best day out I’ve had for a long time.
The variety of gardens were amazing; to go from small plots to more landscaped gardens with lots of trees and beautifully cut lawns really was quite something. The weather thankfully was kind to us all today and it was such a great event, so well organised, your big group of volunteers were all incredible, everyone got involved, it really was a fantastic event.
We have recently moved to East Anglia so we’re still finding our feet of local events but I will make sure this is in the diary for next year.
Thank you so much to you and your band of garden owners and volunteers for making it a really special day.”
