The Parish Council and village residents have observed an ongoing and worsening dog fouling problem along public footpaths in the village, in particular the ‘permissive’ path behind Four Ashes, and requests that dog owners please take proper responsibility for clearing up after their dogs in the interests of public health and the quiet enjoyment of other residents and footpath users.
Volunteers have had to clear footpaths of dog excrement before the Great Run Local takes place.
Permissive paths are not public footpaths and can be closed to public use by the owners if residents continue behave inconsiderately.
The footpaths are maintained by the Parish Council, landowners and volunteers for the benefit of everyone in the village but this requires all users to show a modicum of consideration for others.
