Meditation – A Direct Path to Wellbeing in Walsham

stacked pebbles against a blurred blue and orange sky and the moon low in the skyLast weekend Ian Guthrie  held the first meditation session for seven people from the village, none of whom previously really knew each other!

The group will meet again this week with the addition of one other member.

Ian generously welcomed the first group into his home and created a wonderfully conducive atmosphere which was instantly very meditative resulting in a very relaxed start for the group, most of whom were new to the practice of meditation.

Meditation – A Direct Path to Wellbeing

stacked pebbles against a blurred blue and orange sky and the moon low in the skyIan Guthrie has just moved to the village and is offering to set up regular meditation sessions.  He has been practising meditation himself for just over 30 years and teaching the practice on and off for 15 years.

The classes would be free but obviously room hire would need to be covered.

Let others know if you think they may be interested.  If there is enough interest Ian feels a class could be running by the end of September after an initial introductory meeting.

Janet Kerridge Awarded British Empire Medal

British Empire MedalOur very own Janet Kerridge was awarded a British Empire Medal for services to her community.  Janet has worked through St. Mary The Virgin Church since she was a child and had, until this year, been Church Secretary since 1973,
She said: “I was very surprised and have been congratulated by my friends.  Twelve people wrote letters to help recommend me for this award and that was the most surprising thing.  I am most proud of organising the children’s praise and Christmas praise.”
