Diary of Events

REMEMBER: From 10.00am: until 11.45am: at the Village Memorial Hall there is a Coffee Morning every Tuesday and Thursday where you can enjoy Coffee or Tea along with a mouth-watering slice of cake for just £1.50p!

THIS IS IMPORTANT ! HERE IN WALSHAM WE HAVE A DEFIBRILLATOR !

We must thank the Sports Club for purchasing this vital piece of equipment which is located at their clubhouse, which you will find on the left hand side of Summer Road approximately half of a mile from the Six Bells crossroads. The defibrillator is located just inside the front door of the Club with instructions to break the glass for access if the Club is locked, and this is clearly displayed for anyone who may need this item.

These details were originally given to the villagers several years ago when this was installed but since then there have been a fair number of new residents who are almost certainly unaware of this facility, so, if you have new neighbours please inform them of this information. Thank you !

And; there is now a second defibrillator, once again this was purchased by the Walsham Sports Club and this is situated over the road from the clubhouse at the sports 'field'.

  • Starring; Tom Courtenay, Michael Gambon, Blake Harrison, Toby Jones, Daniel Mays, Bill Nighy, Bill Paterson, Catherine Zeta-Jones.
  • It‘s 1944: the end of the Second World War is in sight. In Walmington on Sea Captain Mainwaring‘s Home Guard suffers from a lack of confidence, from usefulness and low motivation. This is until a glamorous journalist, Rose Winters arrives to cover a report on the platoon‘s exploits and activities. Meanwhile, MI5 have discovered a radio signal transmitted from Walmington towards Berlin, apparently the work of a Nazi spy. MI5‘s Major Cunningham and Captain Meeks find Captain Mainwaring and inform him of the enemy presence, stating that “it could be anyone”. This news gives the Home Guard a chance to make a real presence in the war.
