Mother and Toddler Group

Young children seated (and some not) around a long low covered with yellow and patterned cover table. On the table are various party food and drink (sausages, cheese cubes on cocktal sticks, triange sandwhiches, sausage rolls and orange juice in Bob the Builder glass with drinking straws). Some of the children are wearing gold homemade cardbouard crowns – party hats. Some adult women are also present.

The Mother and Toddler Group has now been established in Walsham for over ten years. The group holds meetings every Wednesday morning during term times from 9.45 to 11.15 a.m. They are held in the Village Hall which gives ample space for the little toddlers, who can range from birth through to 3 years in age and they all enjoy a very relaxed, fun morning.

Activities include drawing, playing with Playdough or just climbing on the various pieces of play equipment or enjoying the lots of ride-on toys.

Mothers with young babies can enjoy a cup of coffee whilst keeping an eye on their child, who is no doubt enjoying watching the older children playing. Various different ‘stalls’, such as the Osborne Book club, Bodyshop and Jewellery are sometimes booked to come and display their goods, and they all donate a sum of money from their commission which then helps to keep the Mother and Toddler Group group viable.

All new (and old!) mothers are cordially invited to come along to see the group on any Wednesday morning and to have a cup of coffee and a chat with the other mums.

The fees are just £1.50 per morning for up to three children.
